Chili’s New Top Shelf Tacos

For all you avid Chili’s fans, you are in for a treat!

Chili’s Bar & Grill is a Tex-Mex restaurant, serving Southwestern inspired dishes, alongside some classic American favorites, with a hint of Mexican in between.

I was at Chili’s Bangsar Shopping Center a few weeks back to sample their limited time only menu, featuring 4 new premium tacos – Ranchero Chicken Tacos, Spicy Prawn Tacos, Grilled Beef Tacos and Grilled Dory Tacos.

The Chili’s Top Shelf Tacos is available from 9 May to 5 July 2016.

The photographs below may looked identical but it’s individual flavors were fairly distinctive.
The best bit about having tacos – you don’t need cutleries – though it could get a tad messy for some – especially for someone like me. Here goes my Mexican crusade.

The Rancheron Chicken Tacos came fully-loaded with shreds of chicken over Jack cheese, housemade pico de gallo(salsa), sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, queso fresco (cheese). At the side, a serving of citrus-chile rice and black beans. This was one full-on meal I tell you.

Your choice of 2 tacos for RM26.95 or 3 tacos for RM31.95.
I had a good spin with the Top Shelf Grilled Beef Tacos too. The marinated grilled beef over Jack cheese were flavorsome and chewy, the chimichurri sauce on top added a pleasant kick to the overall taco.

By the time I got to the Top Shelf Grilled Dory Tacos, it was already long gone. The grilled chile-lime dory fillet was topped with housemade cilantro slaw and vegetable fillings. Like the rest of the tacos featured today, this one also comes with a side of citrus-chile rice and black beans.

Save the best for last they say! The Top Shelf Spicy Prawn Tacos was my favorite for the evening, handsdown. Hidden somewhere in between the fillings were five plump and spicy prawns, coated with chile lime. It tasted a tad fiery no doubt but it was delicious!

Apart from the feast above, for appetizers, we also shared a serving of this Triple Dipper (RM34.20), Bottomless Tostada Chips (RM16.85) and White Spinach Queso (RM25.95) for appetizer.

As for dessert, we had the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie (RM17.95), Molten Chocolate Cake (RM22.05) and Skillet Toffee Fudge Brownie (RM17.95).
